Facebook Is Like A Bad Fish
Lately there has been this phenomenon of staying connected via your computer or cell telephone no matter where you are. Why people would want to do this, is beyond me. I feel most of us, lead pretty normal and boring lives. I don't need to read or see what all my friends are not up to. I have to admit, I did try Twitter, Jaiku and even Facebook, just to see what it was all the fuss was about. One day, I finally realized what these websites were really meant for. I discovered that my long lost relatives could look me up, for a free place to stay. I have to admit, I was and possibly still am offended, that they just connect with me, and then all of a sudden they are telling me the price of hotels in Vancouver are too expensive, and that they might have to camp out in a cardboard box. I have always had the theory that relatives are like fish, after 3 days they begin to stink. Long lost relatives are even smellier, because the only reason, they found you via Facebook was so they could sponge a place to stay. Before there was the Internet, there was the telephone book and directory assistant. Why didn't they try and contact me via those methods, long before the information highway. Anyway, the moral to this story is don't sign up for anything that gives you a public profile, sooner or later, it won't only be the relatives finding you, but also the bill collectors, and maybe even Tony Soprano. In closing, I have to say Facebook is like a bad fish that should be avoided.
